Full Oak Staircase with Central Glass Balustrade in Hove
For our client in Hove, we crafted a truly standout feature staircase, entirely finished in rich natural oak. This bespoke installation included oak stringers, oak undercladding, and oak treads and risers, all finished with a natural semi-matte oil to bring out the wood’s warm golden tones.
The unique architecture of the property allowed us to incorporate a central glass balustrade that runs up through the core of the staircase, spanning four floors. We used 15mm toughened glass for the balustrade, which fit neatly into the staircase’s inner core, creating a visually stunning vertical line of clear, frameless glass.
To complement the oak, we introduced jet black side-mounted handrails supported by through-glass brackets. These brackets were fixed through precision-cut holes in the glass, ensuring both stability and a sleek modern aesthetic. All fixtures attaching the glass panels to the oak were also finished in jet black, perfectly matching the handrails and creating a cohesive contrast against the golden oak.
This Hove staircase is a testament to our dedication to bespoke craftsmanship and elegant design, turning a simple staircase into a central architectural feature of the home.
