A Stunning Walnut Mono Stringer Staircase in Lancing, East Sussex

Over in Lancing, East Sussex, we had the opportunity to create a staircase that truly brought the wow factor to a client’s home. They came to us seeking something that would stand out, yet also feel modern and minimalist, and we were more than happy to deliver.

We designed a mono, or centre spine, staircase with rich, dark walnut treads. The walnut gave the staircase a deep, warm character that just looked stunning against the rest of the interior. To keep everything looking clean and simple, we hid all the fixings with walnut end caps, so you’d never see any screws or bolts. It was all about those smooth lines.

We also went with fully frameless glass balustrades, both for the staircase itself and around the landings. It kept everything feeling open and airy. This project ran from the basement to the ground floor and then up to the first floor, with the staircase a full meter wide and the glass forming a kind of inner spine on one side.

In short, it was a high-end job that brought a real “wow” to the client’s home. They were thrilled with the result, and we were too.
